De-mystifying The Individual Education Plan

What’s it about?

The Individual Education Plan is a legal working document outlining student strengths, strategies and goals that help students reach their full potential. The IEP process is a collaborative one that involves the school team, as well as the parents and the student. In this presentation Celina Berube, B.A, B.Ed. aims to help parents gain a better understanding of the IEP with a particular focus on:

  • Who requires an IEP?
  • What are the key features of an IEP?
  • What types of supports does the MEQ recognize?
  • What are the types of IEP’s?
  • How can a parent help in the IEP process
